When Boyle County High School (KY) senior Hannah Wesley found out she’d been selected as Bass IQ’s first Angler of the Month her response was “This is a huge honor, and I’m super excited about it!”
Hannah has been bass fishing much of her life, and she’s clearly in love with the sport. As a member of her high school team for four years, Hannah has risen to the top in more ways than one. Boyle County High School fishing coach David Christopher says, “Hannah is one of those special anglers. She’s a great ambassador for not only our team, but for bass fishing in general. She will succeed in anything she decides to do, and we will miss her greatly when she graduates in May,” adds her coach.
In addition to fishing competitively with her high school team, Hannah has also competed as an FLW Tour co-angler, which adds an entirely different level of experience to her resume. Combine that with her involvement on a local level through the Kiwanis Club, and Camp Horsin’ Around (where she helped teach fishing skills to other youth), AND her own successful tournament history, and you’ll see the picture of a well-rounded high school angler.
Hannah is the daughter of Wayne and Vicki Wesley of Junction City, Kentucky. Hannah is still weighing all her college options but her interest is leaning toward a marketing career in the fishing industry.
As the August 2018 Bass IQ Angler of the Month, Hannah wins a $500 college fishing scholarship and an engraved portfolio. She is now eligible for the Bass IQ Angler of the Year that will be awarded in May 2019.
